If nothing else, it was nice to watch the “Zell on Earth” segment from yesterday just to get some comic relief. I haven't laughed harder in a while.

The best moment had to be when Chris Matthews asked Stewart if he'd asked Kerry about Iraq. Stewart's response? “No … but I'm a comedian!”

Stewart's point in context was that the media basically serves as mouthpieces for politicians and rarely challenges them. They pretend to, but they rarely call them on their “talking points.” Matthews had done it the other night with Zell Miller (which of course led to Miller challenging Matthews to a duel — quite possibly the most entertaining political exchange I've ever seen), which is why he was on the show.

I seriously started clapping when Stewart exclaimed that he's a comedian. It's wonderfully ironic that a few comedians on a fake news show have been better journalists than most on the cable news channels.|||109427408351227273|||The Daily Show
