9/08/2004 11:46:00 AM|||Joe|||I went to get my MN driver's license last week. They let me take the test and fill out the form, but I couldn't finish until I provided my birth certificate or a passport. I had my mother fedex my birth certificate to me, and I brought it in today.

They snipped a corner off my SD license, took my picture, then told me that I'd get my license in 3–4 weeks.

I'm hoping she meant days.

What is going on? It took me all of 15 minutes to get my license last February in SD. I didn't need my birth certificate. Didn't have to wait 3–4 weeks. More like 3–4 minutes for the card to be printed up.

This is insane. So now I have a driver's license with a corner cut off. I have a big yellow piece of paper that, with my old license, constitutes my temporary license. So when I go out with some friends for a bachelor's party this weekend, I have to carry around my papers and explain them to everyone who cards me.|||109466618867177570|||Papers
