  1. there's a difference between Republican and conservatism
  2. that Bush is only a conservative on social and maybe on tax issues (if you take a very, very narrow view)
  3. and that he has otherwise expanded the power and reach of the federal government far beyond what it ever should be (USA PATRIOT act, his desire for a marriage amendment)
I just get kind of a resigned sigh, a nod, and a shrugging of shoulders?

I can understand voting for someone even if you don't agree with them on some issues, but isn't this kind of important? Are people really voting for Bush because they honestly think he'll keep us safer? How are they going to react when the CIA's report on 9/11 is released?|||109830405030522478|||Big Government
