10/28/2004 11:37:00 PM|||Joe|||It occurred to me today that you can tell a person's political persuasion by who they like more: Bill Hicks or Dennis Leary.

I like both, but I blame Leary for participating in the popularization of conservatism. I like Hicks a hell of a lot more — he could be very offensive, but he always had an ethical angle to his comedy. Leary seemed to embody the ethical relativism now manifesting itself in neo-conservatism.

That's right, I just called the president a relativist. And I'd back it up, if I wasn't so tired right now.

But still, if you haven't heard Bill Hicks (RIP), go out and pick up one of his CDs from the comedy section of a music store. Then revel in the irony of buying it at a Best Buy when you hear what he has to say.|||109902823964873846|||Bill Hicks10/29/2004 11:26:00 AM|||Blogger cczernia|||Now that you say it I can see how Leary might support neo-conservatism in a wierd way. Not sure what you mean by relativist unless your talking about moral relativety. And if that's the case, I'm not sure how it applies.

Either way Hicks is the man. Hicks or Eddie Izzard. Gotta love Goat boy :P

Also, set up the atom feed thing. Not sure how it works (looks like an RSS feed) but the atom XML file is at /blog/feed/atom.xml
