4/12/2005 10:24:00 PM|||Joe|||Ok, so I haven't been able to print for a couple months now. Shortly after putting in some new cartridges, it stopped working. Luckily it's also a scanner, so it's not completely useless.

I got fed up tonight. I googled for some damn answers and found some.

This involved almost completely disassembling the stupid thing. There was a tiny little hose that was loose, deep in the Epson's bowels.

It prints, though there's some minor streaks. I usually just use it for mapquest directions anyway.

You wanna know why you can buy printers for under $200? It's because they know that a hose will come loose in a year and you'll just buy a new one. And if it doesn't, they can just jacking the price for print cartridges up. Speaking of, the cartridges are almost empty thanks to all the nozzle cleanings I've done.

I should just fork over the $40 to get a Parallel -> USB cable and plug in my badass 10-year old HP Laserjet 4L. I guarantee that beast will still work. Though I've heard there can be problems with those cables. But still, that old printer will work fine. Not that HP makes good consumer-grade printers these days either.

It's going to take days for the ink to come off my fingers.

If any of you people out there in blog land know of a decent inkjet printer that can print glossy photos and will last more than a year with out a &*$#ing hose coming loose or otherwise croaking, please let me know.|||111337039734898909|||Printer Problems
