I don't remember exactly what it was, but the idea was there was something going after my face and I was trying to knock it away. Anyway, I snapped awake.

I couldn't move.

I'd heard about this. What's strange is that I was terrified, but I realized immediately what was going on. I had some mild hallucinations. My bedroom door was open, and I thought I saw movement in the hall (I could move my eyes). It seemed hard to breath, too. So I decided to just force myself out of it and try violently to move. This resulted in an awful sound not unlike the sound of having your own teeth pulled. It also seemed to hurt.

That's when I started to panic. It was strange - I had almost no sense of time. I could have been lying there for 30 seconds or 30 minutes for all I know. At one point I thought I may be dying or dead. Eventually I either decided to move my hands (which were on my chest) and they managed to move a little, or I just noticed that I could start moving again. It took some time (again, I'm not sure how long), but eventually I was able to sit up.

Like I said, I knew what was going on from the get-go. And on one hand I thought it was interesting and kick-ass. On the other hand, it was terrifying. As however much time went by, I became more and more freaked out, and, as I said, thought I saw something in the hall.

I can see what those people who think they were abducted by aliens are so freaked out about. It was a very weird and interesting experience, and I'm glad that I can now say that it happened to me, but I hope it doesn't happen again.|||111325276637101243|||Sleep Paralysis4/12/2005 05:00:00 AM|||Blogger Scooter|||It was me in the hall. I've been living in and blogging from one of your closets for the last few months.

I believe you can actually induce sleep paralysis if you practice. You know, if you don't have anything better to do, like heavy drinking or drugs.4/12/2005 08:35:00 AM|||Blogger cczernia|||I think it was a face hugger from Alien. So, if you start feeling chest pains start to worry.4/12/2005 11:38:00 AM|||Blogger Joe|||You know, it was sort of like one of those face huggers. Not quite, but similar.
