First, I saw "The Interpreter". It's had mixed reviews. I don't know why. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It had a compelling story-line and it was very different from your typical hollywood offerings. Some parts felt a little preachy, but I don't think that that was overdone. There was a "car-bombing" scene that made my stomach turn. Which says something about my interest in the movie. Usually scenes in movies like that don't do much to me.
Second, I met my girlfriend's family. There are certain personal things I'll talk about on a blog, but relationships are not one of them. So no details here. I enjoyed it. I met a lot of people at one time, and I am very, very (very) reserved when I first meet people, but I think it went well. They were all very friendly, and it was definitely a warm atmosphere. Her brothers (one in particular) seemed to want to interrogate me, which is fine with me. I've got a younger sister too, so I understand.
You want to know something weird about me? I don't address people by their name until I am comfortable with them. It may be strange, but I feel like I'm being disrespectful if I address them by their name before we're friends. I know it's ridiculous, but it's the way I am. cczernia|||I didn't care for the "The Interpreter." I didn't care about anything that happened in the movie. I could have basically walked out at any moment and not worried about what happened next. I kept expecting Denzel Washington to pop up.It was like I was constantly waiting for the movie to start. And the ending was very Hollywood.
