5/19/2005 07:56:00 AM|||Joe|||The H.264 codec included with Quicktime 7 is impressive. Very impressive. I've encoded some flapping crane videos at a higher resolution (480x360) and at a higher bitrate, with a comparable file size and much better quality.
There are just two problems.
The small problem is that it takes a while for a lot of people to install Quicktime 7. If they don't have it, they can't watch it.
The big problem is that Apple still hasn't released a version for Windows. I'm not going to bother re-encoding these for just 1% of the people who visit the site (those who run macs and have Quicktime 7).

I just hope the Windows version is released soon at that people adopt it relatively quickly. H.264 is just so much nicer than MPEG-4 or (even worse) Sorenson.|||111651527227505784|||Quicktime 7
