In a nutshell, this proposed bill would allow, under certain circumstances and after careful review, the castration of certain sex offenders.
Wow. I mean, I'm certainly not gonna stick up for sex offenders. But wow. It seems to me that that might violate both the state and federal constitution.
Anyway, there's another one to force a renaming of the Minnesota Twins to the Hennepin County Twins.
You know, all you need to do to make the U.S. House look respectable is to look at state legislatures.
Speaking of, I'm sure everyone by now has heard about DeLay's indictment. Ought to be interesting.|||112793872178267677|||State-Sanctioned Castration9/28/2005 01:57:00 PM||| marie|||You know the most interesting thing is that castration after puberty won't make any difference- in fact castrated males were used for centuries as guards for harems, but those castrated after puberty would routinely have sex with the women in the harem anyway. I do believe it results in some reduction of sex drive (cause rape is all about sex and has nothing to do with control, right!?) - but it certainly won't keep a sex offender from getting it up.
